10th October 2026 10am - 4pm Ceridwen Centre, Carmarthenshire, SA44 5XE
Come and make Fabric Collage at Ceridwen Centre. We will be in the Old Dairy, a beautiful and spacious converted barn. This is a gorgeous, relaxing venue on an organic farm. A delicious organic lunch and refreshments will be included as part of the day.
Explore line, texture, colour, tone, shape and pattern within your Fabric Collage making. All materials will be provided, with an array of fabric and mixed media, including recycled fabric, calico, threads, buttons, skeleton leaves, wooden printing letter blocks, ink pads, watercolour paints and more. Learn how to use eco-friendly fusible webbing as an exciting adhesion method for layering and creating texture. Adhesion methods will also include glue, wire and stitch, the latter two also as a form of texture and mark making. Materials and equipment provided are as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible.
You may like to bring any materials of your own that are personal to you, such as fabrics from your stash or part of a pre-loved item of clothing, memorabilia and found/natural objects. You can include a favourite poem or quote within your imagery, if you would like to.
You can create a theme for your collage or purely enjoy experimenting with different textures.
There will be books on Fabric Collage for you to look at, as well as information sheets to take away, including references to the work of contemporary and historical Fabric Collage artists and the fusible webbing technique. There will be plenty of time and space for creative focus, as well as to learn new skills or develop and practice skills already familiar to you.
The day will be experimental and fun, using our imaginations to create unique and expressive Fabric Collages. The Fabric Collage images above are of/by participants on previous workshops I have taught, along with an image of some workshop fabric provided. You can see more images if you scroll down on my Gallery page.
