Saturday November 2nd 2024 10am - 4pm Y Stiwdio, Hermon, Pembrokeshire
I am very excited to be offering a follow up of my recent Creative Papermaking half day workshops, for a whole day at Y Stiwdio. This is a beautiful eco build Arts & Sustainability Centre, hosted by Cwm Arian Renewable Energy. There will be plenty of opportunity to explore textural possibilities and have fun developing ideas. This workshop is for beginners or participants who have some experience of making handmade recycled paper. You will learn or refresh on how to use a Deckle and Mould and to transform old paper into new, using the pouring method. You will be shown how to expand scale to create patchwork paper; explore line to create textural paper stripes and also how to emboss textured pattern, with printing blocks. Or you can simply build confidence and experiment further with surface texture, by adding a variety of inclusions to your fresh handmade paper. All materials will be provided. Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add into your paper to create exciting textural surfaces. You may want to make a stand alone piece or create a series of experiments for use in mixed media collage, card making, gift tags, bookmarks, framed pieces etc. You may also want to bring some of your own pressed leaves or dried flower petals, as well as additional thin scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations. There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including images by other Papermaking artists.
Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided and there will be space for 10 participants.
Further information and booking details are via Eventbrite.
