Saturday May 25th 2024 10am - 1pm Y Stiwdio, Hermon, Pembrokeshire
I am very excited to be offering a morning of Creative Papermaking at Y Stiwdio, a beautiful eco build Arts & Sustainability Centre, hosted by Cwm Arian Renewable Energy. So come and explore textural possibilities and have fun experimenting with making your very own pieces of recycled handmade paper. You will learn how to use a Deckle and Mould and to transform old paper into new, using the pouring method. Choose amongst dried petals, seeds, leaves and threads to add into your paper to create exciting textural surfaces. These can be framed, made into wall hangings or used in collage and card making, gift tags, bookmarks etc. All materials will be provided. You may also want to bring some of your own dried leaves or flower petals to add to the selection of inclusions, as well as additional thin scraps of paper to recycle as part of your handmade paper creations. There will be plentiful visual resources to help inspire you, including images by other Papermaking artists. Hot drinks will be provided in this cosy, yet spacious, light and uplifting space. There will be spaces for 10 participants.
The images above are from previous workshops I have taught. You can see more images on my Gallery page.
As this course is funded by Community Foundation Wales, tickets are offered on a sliding scale with the top rate at £22.00. It is part of the Upskill and Upcycle series at Y Stiwdio.
Booking is via Eventbrite where you will also find a map and details about parking and accessibility. *This workshop is fully booked. Please let me know if you'd be interested in joining us for a potential repeat of it in the Autumn*
